Dr. Blecher enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and two terrific children. He also enjoys listening to music (you’d be surprised) and traveling when he can. His favorite movies are The Godfather and Dances with Wolves.
Dr. Blecher grew up in Blacksburg, VA and is proud to be a product of a small college town.
After finishing his medical education at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine—The Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Blecher completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh St. Margaret Hospital. He then completed his Family Medicine/ OB-GYN Fellowships at Pinnacle Health’s Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
After his fellowship, Dr. Blecher sought a Family Medicine academic position and was honored to join the excellent group of physician educators at the Fairfax Family Practice Residency Program where he is an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Medicine in the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine and Population Health. He has received multiple teaching awards from the medical students at the INOVA campus.
In addition to teaching and seeing his own patients, Dr. Blecher is also the Medical Director of Student Health Services at the INOVA campus of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and School of Pharmacy. He is presently serving as the Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital.
